About a year ago, I came across this scarf pattern and fell in love. I cast on immediately, got half of it done in 3 days, and then continued pleasantly thinking I would complete it, and wear it, within a week. It was not until I had several inches of the second half done that I noticed I had made a mistake. I decreased on the edge of a column and it was quite noticeable. Since the first half knit up so wonderfully, I didn't think to put in a lifeline. So in my irritation with the lack of forethought, I didn't feel like correcting it, and there it sat... for a year.
It wasn't until I noticed that there was a category for WIPs in Ravelympics. Perfect! I picked it up again on Feb 12, and had it corrected, knit, bound off and blocked on Feb 28. I didn't win any medals, and I'm ok with that... instead I completed a scarf that has been sitting around for a year.

And the lesson learned? Always to use a lifeline in lace knitting.... no matter how easy or quick it's knitting up.
